Article / 6 pages / Free / Youth generation or DE-generation? / 2010 march

A new youth generation worldwide has been born. “The Ni-Ni generation”, the name given by the Spanish media to this new social phenomenon is characterized by inactive youths, who do not have any kind of plans for the future, do not see the benefits of studying due to the precarious job market and who are immersed in a disillusionment loop, mainly because they are unable to find a job. In Spain, where the trend is very popular, youth have to find their way in a hot media climate that acts as a time bomb. Do you know someone aged 16 to 29 years old? Is he/she neither studying, nor working? Isn’t he/she attending any kind of traineeship?
