The last decade has seen China’s economy quadrupling in size and cities further and further into the interior being transformed into shining hubs. Half a billion Chi-nese have been lifted out of poverty and consumers worldwide have enjoyed the fruits of the laboring on China’s factory floors. But there is a sense that the current growth model, largely based on investments and exports, is approaching the limits of its utility.
